July 22, 2017 Luther Workshop at St. Paul Evart |
St. Paul Lutheran Church in Evart announces an upcoming workshop to mark the 500th Anniversary of the event that put into motion the Protestant Reformation. This workshop is open to all and is planned for Saturday, July 22. Congregations in the area are encouraged to send members of their Church Councils, Bible Study Groups, Call Committees and Youth Groups to take advantage of this unique learning opportunity.
Registration, with coffee and donuts will begin at 9:30 am. Lunch is included in the suggested donation of $10/person. The church is located at 435 W. 5th St. (on the corner of 5th St. and Cherry St.) in Evart. This will be a wonderful opportunity for Christians of all denominations to understand more fully this crucial time in church history. The story of the upheaval within the Christian community that resulted in the re-evaluation and reform of Christian Theology and practices is one that everyone can benefit from knowing better. Join us as we celebrate the 500-year anniversary of this momentous event by attending this workshop, “The Life and Theology of Martin Luther.” presented by faculty from the Institute of Lutheran Theology, based in Brookings, South Dakota. ILT has developed this unique course of study for congregations to achieve a solid foundation in religious education. This program, called Word at Work Workshop (3W), is designed to be a pathway of foundational learning to equip the Church so that it will defend the Christian faith in the 21st Century. |
